Castello di Razzano

I've had my fill of this place altogether this is my fourth attempt to post my review they keep deleting it somehow. the property is a complete joke it is horrible avoid this place at all costs these are the most rude ignorant people you'll ever meeting your life all they want to do is take your money and provide zero service when we arrived at 30 minutes for someone to come to reception to help us and that's when a man and a young girl showed up with the man yelling at the girl that she's not supposed to leave reception didn't she see us she was nothing but rude ignorant and sarcastic with us we went to our room which is very nice however there's no hot water there was not in the evening none at night none in the morning the bed is garbage you'll sink about five inches into the mattress you can't move roll over or anything I ended up sleeping on the floor we had booked a tour and a wine tasting when we went to go get our tour the same girl handed us a piece of paper pulled us to walk through that door follow it around to the gift shop go above the gift shop where she will give us our wine tasting there was no tour she showed up to give us a wine tasting 20 minutes later while we waited and waited and waited she handed us another piece of paper and told us the color of the wine and the year of it exactly what was wrote on the piece of paper she told us nothing about it even when we tried to ask questions about it she got upset and didn't have a clue what she was talking about she was angry and clearly did not want to be there everybody there looks the same they're clearly a family so nobody will ever get fired from there and the only place they can get a job is with their Grandpa after the wine tasting all she did was try to push us into the gift shop to buy stuff even when we ask questions we were snapped at we went for dinner we were next to the owner who was entertaining friends and a couple who stunk so bad of smoke you wanted to vomit they would get up and go smoke after every couple sips of wine or after a course of their meal and come back in smelling even worse it was impossible to try to enjoy anything with that smell being so horrible their menu was exactly the same as the two places we ate the two previous nights there was no difference in the menu they copy each other's menu the only difference was here everything was more expensive the food was nowhere near as good and the portions are much smaller I personally did not even get the wine that I ordered with my meal as I said they just want your money they tried getting us out the door before we were even done chewing our food it was the most insane thing I've ever seen we went down for breakfast in this morning everything was empty except some dried out bread and they would not put anything out for us and again truck getting us out as fast as they possibly could we had no hot water again in the morning so we went to go check out the man asked how things were and we told him the honest truth all he did was get mad races voice a little get extremely sarcastic with us and blame us for everything including the fact that there's no hot water three times when we tried or how we didn't even get the wine with our food or my food the owner came in halfway through our conversation and just stood there and stared as I said there clearly all family and they can't get a job anywhere else so none of them will ever get fired they just assumed we were nobody's if they had any idea who we were or what we did for a living everything about their opinion of us I'm sure would have changed I don't usually leave reviews especially to big negative ones but this one needed to be done everyone needs to avoid this place at all costs we learn nothing it was a waste of time and a waste of money there are way better places to go than this place

It was such a pleasure to stay here. The host family is icredibly nice, friendly and warm. The breakfast is really good and the rooms are amazing. Like in an old castle. The wine cellar is one of a kind and the wines are amazing. I liked most the spumante ones :) The restaurant is also really good and the food was superb. We’ll come back again

We stumbled on Castello di Razzano thanks to great reviews from previous guests and it did not disappoint!! We stayed three nights here. Our rooms were enormous, cosily appointed and the welcome we had from everyone here the epitome of friendliness and warmth. If you are looking for a polished design look, this may not be the place for you, but if you delight in unpretentious charm and true comfort, this is a place we’d wholeheartedly recommend. We’d also suggest dining in. The cuisine is typical of the region and absolutely delicious!! We are still hankering after the fennel and pear salad!!

Good experience, great wine. But if you want to buy or taste wine try to talk to the more experienced older lady there, as the young one actually tried to make us pay for a wine tasting which normally is free here. (Family been here several times, this was the first time someone told us we have to pay for it.) Would go again! Just try not to be expedited by the young brunette. :)

We live nearby and often recommend Castello di Razzano to visiting friends. It is a jewel of a location...circled by some of Monferrato's best views with a refreshing pool in the summers. Elegant country atmosphere, professional/multilingual/friendly staff. Excellant wines from their vineyards and local products. Well appreciated restaurant on site. In short...a great choice!
